Yacht Design
This project is done in the minor Yachts & Small Crafts on STI. The minor focuses on engineering and designing boats and yachts. The stakeholder in this project asked for a newer, quicker and smaller version of an already impressive boat from Van der Valk shipyards. Before the design process started research was done about noise and vibrations on the boat. This to make the boat experience as good as possible for the guests on the yacht. This was done With Solidworks vibration simulation. The information obtained during this research is used for the design of the yacht. In the next design phase I focused on the optimization of the hull, the outer looks and the layout of the ship. This process was done in Rhino. The yacht is called the Nopeasti, translated to ‘rapid and quick’ in Norwegian. It suits the shape and the purpose of the yacht. It is designed to sail on the Northern and the Eastern Sea.
