Parametric, Social & Experience Design
Design can provide it’s users with a better experience, more convenience or comfort products or processes can offer right now. My preference to achieve this is with a minimalistic and user centred approach. I see that these three factors, experience, convenience and comfort, play a big role in how and if people will use products, it spans the gap between these two entities. Even though an experience is subjective, dynamic and situated there are some elements that can have a positive effect on the holistic interaction between user and design. The implementation of triggering multiple senses, a certain grandeur, simplicity in complexity, unexpectedness, a good overall visual and something enjoyable can have a positive effect. With the possible use of complex systems, technology, material knowledge and inspiration from not only design, that goal; spanning the gap between the two entities, can be realized.
Experience
Masters degree
After finishing the Pre-Master I had the opportunity to follow the masters degree Industrial Design at TU Eindhoven. The combination of design and research set me in a better position as a designer then beforehand.
Applied sience
The certificate as European Lighting Experts was granted to me after finishing the course Ligthing and Technology at TU/E. Throughout multiple projects I learned how to measure, calculate, test and improve the light quality to the certain set norms.
European Lighting Expert
Graduated in 2022, I finished the HBO Industieel Product Ontwerp (IPO) on the Rotterdam University of applied sciences. The variety of learned design/production techniques is very valuable. The study and the projects were concrete and solution focussed.
During the study IPO I had two semesters of internships. One at Flexsoll solution and one at The New Makers. Both experiences gave me a good insight on how the industry works and what I can expect within design studio’s.
